There is so much wisdom out there to drink up and nourish ourselves with. The quote comes to mind, ” A smart man learns from his own mistakes. A wise man learns from the mistakes of others.”.

When we read the wisdom passed down from our brothers and sisters we truly empower ourselves to succeed. We wanted to compile a list of our favorite inspirational and motivating books on positive thinking.

The Secret Daily Teachings

Written by Rhonda Byrne in 2006 this book teaches one how to work with the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking through daily practices.

This book I have heard many people fall in love with and benefit from her simple but deeply effective practices and ways of explaining.

Awaken The Giant Within

This book was written by Tony Robbins in 1991 as a self-help book. Tony teaches within here how to shift your mental state, take charge of your life, create lasting change, and shift your reality with positive thinking.

Tony has now written books such as Unlimited Power and even a Netflix movie, Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru. Awaken The Giant Within was his first book and is still relevant today.

You Can Heal Your Life

This book written by Louise Hay describes the impact the mind has on the body and teaches how cultivating this awareness can heal disease in the body.

She explains how limiting thoughts and negative self-views are detrimental to our health.

She goes on to explain how disease in the body mirrors the state of our mental and emotional bodies as the body is a mirror of our inner world.

When we understand that our body hears what we think we can then feel more motivated to care for our mental state and therefore our bodies. She goes on to also teach how affirmations can bring about healing.

The Bhagavad Gita

This is a classic yoga text, the version we are presenting to you is the version translated and introduced by Eknath Easwaran. This book is not specifically on positive thinking but it offers you the foundations of yogic philosophy and how to with the mind.

The practice of yoga is to clear the mind of Maya, a yogic term meaning illusion. This is because when we mind it is clear we are naturally in love with life. As the Dali Lama says, love is the absence of judgment.

The Power Of Positive Thinking

Written by Norman Vincent Peale in 1952 this book is still one of the best self-help books for becoming introduced into methods of positive thinking and how negative emotions will impact your reality. He teaches that shifting your mental state is incredibly accessible and inspires you to feel able to do so.

Loving What Is: Four Questions That Can Change Your Life

Byron Katie wrote this self-help book in 2002 after she had a life-altering breakthrough in her brutal battle with depression. For ten years she had been in a rage with crippling depression and one day she had an epiphany that lead her to create the four questions of thought inquiry she calls, “the work”.

This book gives real-life examples of the work in action as well as some of Katie’s own experiences with it. She will guide you to apply the work into your own life and empower you to start loving what is.
