Sleep is one of the most powerful, creative times of your day. The 5 minutes before you sleep are extremely important, because they set your mind up for how it will dream, how it will process the day you’ve just had, and how it will prepare itself for tomorrow.

If, as so many people do, you spend the last five minutes worrying about what you have to do the next day, or fretting over what didn’t go right today, then you are creating an unconscious pattern of negativity in your life. You’ll be less likely to rest well, and you’ll wake up in the morning feeling stressed and anxious about the day ahead.

But, you can easily shift that pattern. By taking a few minutes, every single night before you fall asleep to review your day in a positive light, to think about the things you’re truly grateful for, then you can kickstart a positive spiral of peace, hope, and well-being.
