The sacral chakra, also known as Svadhistana, is located in the region just below the navel. It is associated with the element of water and the color orange.
The 2nd chakra in our energy system holds our creativity, pleasure, and self-expression. When this chakra is in balance we can easily express our emotions as well as express ourselves unapologetically.
The sacral chakra is directly intertwined with how we feel joy and pleasure in our lives. It is blocked by the energy of fear and our repressed emotions will block the energy flow in this chakra.
Physical Symptoms
The sacral chakra rules the womb, testes, bladder, bowels, and large intestine. It includes the hips, lower back, and pelvis. When the sacral chakra is out of balance it can manifest as sexual dysfunctions and urinary tract infections.
It can also show up as kidney problems, hip and lower back pain, and reproductive difficulties.
Emotional Symptoms
When we are feeling unable to be inspired and blocked in our creativity this is an imbalance of the sacral chakra. It can show up as lacking passion for life and neglecting self-love.
When we are sexually repressed or blocking our ability to receive pleasure this is another symptom. Rigidity and inability to be fluid within life is an imbalance of the sacral chakra.
Addictive behaviors, self-criticism, and feeling overly emotional is another manifestation of a sacral imbalance.
