The Third Chakra Healing: How To Open The Solar Plexus

The solar plexus, also known as the Manipura chakra, located right above the navel and up to the breast bone. It is associated with the element of fire and the color yellow.

This is the 3rd energy center in the seven chakra system. Our personal power, self-confidence, and motivation are held within this chakra.

Our inner warrior resides in this chakra. Meaning the parts of us that set our boundaries and assert ourselves when necessary come from the solar plexus chakra.

Empowering oneself is one of the best tools to heal and open the solar plexus.

Physical Symptoms

The solar plexus rules the stomach, spleen, gallbladder, liver, and skin. It can be visualized in some ways as to how we digest life. Meaning how do we let go of what no longer serves us? How do we receive or maximize the nutrients life gives us?

When the solar plexus is out of balance physical symptoms such as ulcers, acid reflux, and diabetes may arise. Digestive problems like overeating, IBS, and eating disorders can show up from a solar plexus imbalance.

These physical symptoms manifest in order to bring your attention to where you need to heal. Feeling chronically fatigued or overly energized can also be symptoms of this chakra being out of balance.

Emotional Symptoms

Emotional symptoms of a solar plexus imbalance include people-pleasing and struggling to say no or to set boundaries. On the other end of the spectrum, imbalances can show as being aggressive, manipulative and dominating.

Feelings of unworthiness and low self-esteem can arise with this imbalance as well. This includes a lack of motivation and an inability to make or stick to decisions

Struggling to find a sense of direction or stay committed to previous set plans are emotional symptoms as well.
