In this post I’m going to share some of my favorite positive affirmations to help you feel better immediately.
These are truly powerful statements, but before I do I want to explain how these affirmations work, and how you can use them.
How Positive Affirmations Work
Positive affirmations are statements that you repeat to yourself, in order to change your energy, gain control of your thoughts, and improve your state of mind.
While some people believe that positive affirmations don’t work, the truth is there is a lot of scientific data underlying them, as long as you use them correctly.
Affirmations reiterate positive ideas. This is important, because repeated thoughts form beliefs. Every time you repeat an idea – whether it’s a thought about how well you are or how poor you are – you strengthen the neurosynaptic connections related to those thoughts.
Over time, these repeated thoughts create beliefs. Beliefs then influence your actions, goals, attitudes, and overall state of vibration.
Affirmation work according to the Law of Attraction, which means they bring you more positive energy because they evoke positivity within you. When you repeat affirmations, you give yourself an opportunity to change your vibration immediately, raising your energy and taking control over the world around you.
That said, in order for affirmations to be effective, you have to say them correctly. In short: you have to feel a positive emotion result from them.
How To Use Affirmations Correctly
If you’ve tried affirmations in the past, but haven’t gotten the results you hoped for, chances are you didn’t repeat the affirmation the way it was intended.
You see, positive affirmations aren’t really about the words you say or the phrases you repeat. They’re about the idea that those words convey.
More importantly, they’re about the feeling you get from repeating the phrase.
In order for an affirmation to work, you need to feel good while thinking or saying it. This is a basic principle underlying how the Law of Attraction works.
If you can’t feel a positive emotion from the statement, then that’s not the right affirmation for you. It’s important to understand this point as you read through the list below.
Only choose an affirmation that feels right for you.
What Are The Best Affirmations? My Top 10 Favorites
I am well. This could easily be my favorite affirmation of all time. It’s simple, short, and to the point, and it can apply to just about any situation. Whenever you feel stressed or uneasy as you go through the day, simply state this to yourself, and you will find it won’t take long before you start to feel better, more of the time.
Today is going to be a good day. I’m looking forward to what this day will hold. This is a great morning affirmation to use in order to create a feeling of positive expectancy before you begin your day. Learn to anticipate the good, and to expect unexpected windfalls to come to you.
In this moment, I choose peace. This is another great statement to repeat anytime you feel triggered by your environment. No matter what kind of chaos comes at you during the day, it reminds you that you always have ability to choose peace. This is also a great affirmation for centering in the Now, and appreciating the present moment.
I like the idea of enjoying the journey. This is not your ‘traditional’ affirmation, but it gets at an important tip you can use. Anytime you have trouble believing a strong affirmation, you can always soften it. Saying that you like the idea of something is a great way to begin creating a new belief, even if you don’t yet believe it’s possible for you.
Everyday my knowledge, awareness, and energy improves. Every day is better than the last. Finally, this last idea is an important one you can assert to cultivate a belief that things are always getting better. As you learn more about how to become happy, you will create better and better circumstances, which will in turn level-up your happiness even more! This might not happen overnight, but trust that it will happen.
The Words Don’t Matter
Remember, none of these affirmations is about the specific words that you use. You can change and adapt them to meet any circumstance your face, any goal you’ve set yourself, or create any feeling you want to feel.
Instead, think of these affirmations as ways to approach your own personal statements. Use the ideas mentioned to help center your energy, and find the best-feeling thought for you.
That’s how you’ll change your energy, and change your life.
