3 Ways To Start The Week With Peace of Mind

I hope you had a chance to reset and relax this weekend.

But now it’s Monday –> and I know sometimes that can feel like “yet another” hill you have to climb.

So today I want to suggest 3 ways to help cultivate peace of mind this week.

Write A Reminder To Yourself

Write a real, old-fashioned sticky note that reminds you to practice self-compassion. Maybe that’s

  • An inspiring quote,
  • A simple affirmation, or
  • A nudge to just breathe a little.

Then stick that note somewhere you’ll see it throughout the day.

Practice The Art Of “I Don’t Know”

This is especially important if you usually put a lot of pressure on yourself, or find you’re constantly over-analyzing your life.

There can be immense beauty, well-being, and ease in accepting and surrendering to what is, rather than trying to control every detail of your life.

Practice releasing that pressure, by acknowledging you don’t know –> and that that’s ok.

  • “I don’t know how long this will take.”
  • “I don’t know what to expect.”
  • “I don’t have to figure it all out right now.”

Focus On Small Steps

Much of the stress and negativity we feel comes from living outside of the present moment.

Either we bring the past forward with us (reliving regets and shoulda-woulda-coulda’s over and over)

OR…

We let our worries about the future impact our thoughts, feelings and actions now.

The more you can bring your focus onto the actions that are in front of you right now, the more you can really immerse yourself in them, the better you will feel.

Why Peace Of Mind Is Important At The Beginning Of The Week

I know you know the inner game is important –> you probably wouldn’t be reading this if you didn’t.

But, what most people don’t realize, is…

We often separate our inner work, from what we think of as “real-life.”

We think we can meditate for a few minutes in the morning, or relax a bit at the weekend, and then get back up and pummel ourselves the rest of the week.

That just doesn’t work.

At The Joy Within, we teach that we have to find ways to bring our inner work forward, into each day. It’s the art of becoming more present so you can live in the here and now.

  • We have to find little ways to step back.
  • We have to stand guard against the little negative voice in our head, and
  • We have to have strategies that will work, in the moments we need them.

Because when we learn how to master those mini-moments, just a few seconds at a time, we turn the tide in our fight against stress and negative thinking.

I believe you have the ability to WIN THAT FIGHT.

The Joy Within is here to show you how.

Because you deserve to feel calm, confident, and happy, every single day.
