Make Your Affirmations More Effective With This Simple Technique
In this video, I share a simple but powerful exercise you can use in order to raise your vibration instantly, create empowering beliefs, and internalize and embody any emotion you choose to feel.
The process has a few steps.
Write 3 Positive Affirmations for Yourself
The first part of the exercise is to come up with 3 statements that are relevant to you, using the following format.
- “Thank you for helping me…”
- “Thank you for expanding me…”
- Thank you for inspiring me…”
Beginning with each prompt, fill in the end of the sentence according to what it is you want to cultivate in your life.
You’ll notice that there is a clear structure here, which is important for beginning with energy closer to your current vibration, and then gradually accelerating that energy until you feel amazing.
For example, the three statements I use in the video are:
- “Thank you for helping me to feel peace in my life.”
- “Thank you for expanding the joy I feel every day.”
- “Thank you for inspiring me to share that joy with others.”
You can think of these statements either as appreciation to yourself, or a prayer to a higher self, God, or the universe. There does not have to be any religious meaning to them.
The important point is not the specific words you use, but the feeling that you intend to evoke from those words. Read more about how to use positive affirmations for more information on why this is the case.
Repeat Your Affirmations Using The Echo Effect
Once you have your three statements, begin to repeat them to yourself slowly, one at a time.
You’re going to say each sentence three times.
First, speak the sentence aloud, in a normal voice.
Then, whisper the sentence softly to yourself.
Finally, repeat the sentence silently to yourself.
As you go through this cycle, be sure to take your time. You may want to take an easy breath between each repetition.
Work through each of the three repetitions with each sentence, before moving on to the next affirmation. This will create an “echo effect” that strengthens the energy and intention behind each affirmation.
As you repeat the sentences, you will begin to internalize the feeling behind each of them, thereby incorporating that energy into your own vibration.
In the last step, we’ll put all three statements together.
Repeat Your Sentences, One After The Other
The final phase of the exercise is to repeat the three statements back to back.
You will want to cycle through these repetitions multiple times. Begin slowly, speaking carefully and allowing space between each phrase.
Then, gradually, increase the speed, and take a shorter pause between each sentence. Continue repeating the phrases back to back as the energy rises within you.
Repeat for as long as is comfortable for you, but I recommend a minimum of 60 seconds, or 3-4 cycles of the statements.
Lastly, rest for a few moments after you finish, silently resting in the heightened energy you have built for yourself.
