How To Eat a High Vibrational Diet: The Best Foods to Raise Your Energy

There is a direct link between what you eat and how you feel.

Whether you consistently feel sluggish or are on a spiritual quest for enlightenment, becoming more mindful of your diet can be a powerful shift into a higher state of consciousness.

In this post, I’ll explain exactly what that means, and how you can choose high vibrational foods that will make you feel better, more enlightened, and consistently happier.

The Link Between Your Consciousness, Vibration, and Diet

It probably comes as no surprise that the food you eat everyday has a direct impact on how you feel, and what your body can do.

But, there’s also a direct correlation between your diet and your spiritual consciousness.

Part of this correlation is physical – as you eat better, your brain secretes positive chemicals, which help you to lift your mood, think more clearly, improve your presence of mind, and become more receptive to spiritual energy.

But, it also happens on the level of your consciousness, or awareness. This is why many meditation programs advise you to eat lightly, and not to meditate after a heavy meal. It also explains why intermittent fasting is a common practice in devout religious and spiritual traditions.

As you consume food that awakens and enlivens your body’s energy, rather than hampers it, you become more aware.

Of course, the corollary is also true. When you are aware of what you eat, you will tend to eat healthier, more sustainable foods.

This means that consciousness and diet, taken together, can create a powerful, positive cycle that will raise your vibration and allow you to think, act, and achieve at higher levels.

Foods To Raise Your Vibration

Eating a high-vibration diet doesn’t have to be complicated. The short answer is:

Go plant-based.

BUT…

Before you go slam down your computer in protest, know that this doesn’t mean you have to become fully vegan or vegetarian.

That’s because there is no single right answer for everyone. If you’re a full-fledged carnivore, you might start by reducing the number of meals you eat meat. Try eating vegetarian for 1 or 2 days a week, and pay attention to how your body feels.

The entire point of eating to raise your vibration is to help you feel more awakened, alive energy in your body. This means paying attention to how you feel during and after you eat, and starting to pick more foods because they make you feel better, than simply because you always eat them, or because your mind craves them.

But, as a general rule of thumb, here’s how to eat a high vibrational diet.

Consume More:

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables,
  • Raw, dark greens with high alkalinity,
  • Legumes,
  • Good fats (like olive oil, hemp oil, fish oil, and avocados),
  • Natural spices and herbs.

Consume Less:

  • Meat and dairy,
  • Processed foods,
  • Added sugar,
  • Artificial flavorings,
  • Simple carbohydrates,
  • Alcohol,
  • Caffeine,

Again, this doesn’t mean you should radically change your diet overnight. Changing eating habits takes time and patience. But, as you gradually introduce more high-energy foods into your life, you’ll begin to feel better, which will cause you consume more positive foods in the future.

(That said, I do think a short term cleanse can be a powerful way to kickstart new eating habits, and I personally love Tony Robbins 10-day high energy plan, which incorporates many of the principles I talk about in this post.

Eating Positive Energy Food

In her book Positive Energy, UCLA professor Dr. Judith Orloff writes of the importance of paying attention to the resonance your body emits when around your food.

It’s not always about what type of food you’re eating, but the specific piece of food itself. Just like people, some foods give off good vibes, while other foods have bad vibes. If you are aware of your energy, you can always tell when a food is something your body truly wants, or something your mind (or habits) are telling you to eat.

Your mind may not even process how or why this happens, but it might simply feeling drawn to pick one piece of fruit over another. When you’re in the store, take your time, and ask yourself which foods feel right to you, and you’ll naturally start choosing higher-vibrational food.

If this seems like a strange idea, or you can’t tell when your food has good vibes, then a good default mindset is to think fresh, local, and organic food, and foods that have never been processed in any way. The closer you are to eating straight from the earth, the higher energy the food likely has.

Eating Mindfully

Lastly, it isn’t always about what you eat, but how you eat it. This applies both to how you cook your food and how you actually eat it.

Fresh food you (or your friends and family) cook from scratch is almost always better than going out. Sitting at the table and taking your time to eat slowly is almost always better than eating on the go, or eating mindlessly while watching tv.

When you rush your food, you tend to consume more of what your body doesn’t need. Either you overeat, or you’ll gravitate towards junk food that lowers your vibration.

When you simplify your life and set aside time for your meals, and watch your serving sizes. To take things to the next level, practice mindfulness-based eating exercises to learn how to truly savor your food, and enjoy your meal more fully.
