How To Achieve An Abundance Mindset: Exercises and Affirmations

If you understand how The Law of Attraction works, then you probably already know that before you can lead an abundant life, you first must train your mind to develop prosperity consciousness.

Put simply: you can never become financially abundant so long as you are focused on scarcity and lack in the world around you.

Instead, when you learn how to shift your perspective and change your energy and vibration first, then abundance will flow naturally to you. In this post, I’ll teach you how to achieve an abundance mindset, along with a few exercises and affirmations that will help you to cement your new beliefs.

But first, let’s take a deeper look at what an abundant mindset actually is.

What Is Prosperity Consciousness?

Prosperity consciousness is an idea that goes back to the work of Napoleon Hill in his book Think and Grow Rich. It is an idea based on the Law of Attraction, which states that you will receive into your life whatever energy you emit.

Wherever you place your focus, is what will come to you.

Most people unconsciously place their focus onto lack. They want something, and they observe that they do not yet have it – this creates a lack belief. An abundance mindset – prosperity consciousness – on the other hand, would focus more strongly on the opportunities and the possibilities, rather than the absence of the thing they want.

So, and abundant mindset is an ability to see yourself in the possession of whatever it is that you want, before you have any evidence for that state in the physical world. This is what Neville Goddard refers to as living from the wish fulfilled.

How To Get An Abundance Mindset in 3 Steps

Fortunately, developing prosperity consciousness does not have to be difficult. In fact, you can get an abundance mindset in just a few steps.

While these steps are simple, they require attention, dedication, and repetition in order for you to be successful.

1. Identify Your Limiting Beliefs

The first step is to identify the limiting beliefs that you hold. Believe it or not, most people are largely unaware of the ways in which their beliefs are holding them back from their goals.

Limiting beliefs can range from extreme beliefs about poverty, to more subtle, day to day complaints about how much something costs, or slight worries about whether or not you will have enough money to get what you want.

Take the time to draw your attention to these beliefs. Spend a few days or a week noticing every time you think a scarcity-driven thought, and write it down. These thoughts will point to your underlying scarcity beliefs. Once you know what those beliefs are, and begin to witness the role they play in your daily life, you can begin the process of changing them.

2. Choose More Empowering Beliefs

The next step is to redefine your scarcity beliefs to transform them into empowering beliefs.

The easiest way to do this is to take your list of limiting thoughts that you jotted down in the first step. For each negative, scarcity-minded thought, there is an underlying belief.

Every limiting belief, then, will also have an opposite. So, simply take your limiting beliefs, and flip them, to write down an empowering belief.

For example, if you want to buy something, but worry you don’t have enough money, you might write down the limiting belief as: “I don’t have enough money to do what I want.”

This can easily be flipped to its opposite: “I have more than enough money to do what I want.”

For now, simply focus on identifying the belief. Don’t worry if you don’t believe it yet. That’s where the next step comes in.

3. Use Autosuggestion To Program Your Mind

Once you have established the beliefs you want to create, you can use a process called autosuggestion to reprogram your subconscious mind.

Autosuggestion is simply the repetition of thought. Every time you think something, that thought physically forms a connection in your brain, and as you repeat each thought, that connection strengthens, literally hardwiring into a belief.

The key to changing a belief, then, is simply to repeat your new thoughts consistently enough until they become hardwired into beliefs. With practice and repetition, they will become stronger than the limiting beliefs, and begin to form a more dominant part of your consciousness.

But, there is a catch…
