In this video, Jim Rohn explains how the law of averages works. He states that if you do something often enough, a ratio will appear. Once this ration begins, it has a tendency to continue.
You can think about this in anything from a baseball player’s batting average to a salesperson’s results. For example, if you go out and talk to 10 potential clients to try to make a sale, and 1 of them says yes, you’ve started the ratio that will likely evolve into your longer term average.
While obviously you can approve upon this ration over time, and a small population may not be statistically significant, even with a very small number you can have an impotrant indication of what to expect.
Perhaps most importantly, it’s because once you start this average it impacts your overall mindset, which in turn will further influence your results, thanks to the Law of Vibration.
You Are The Average Of The 5 People You Spend Time With
This law also has another important implication when you start to apply it to who you spend your time with. Rohn asserts that you are the average of the five people you spent the most time with.

Why is that?
It’s because you are likely to spend time with people who represent different parts of your energy. As you spend more time with them, it becomes self-reinforcing. As you spend time with them, you absorb more of their energy, and cement your current vibration.
So, if you consistently spend your time with people who are high achievers and have developed good habits of self-discipline and success, you are more likely to engage with those habits and develop them for yourself. This means that it is extremely important who you choose to spend your time with.
