The Law of Karma is one of the seven laws presented in Deepak Chopra’s book, The 7 Spiritual Laws of Success.
In this post, I outline what the law of karma is, and how you can use Chopra’s 3-step system to apply it to your life.
The Meaning of Karma
The Law of Karma is a law of action, and it is also the idea the you reap what you sow.
In order to understand this law, you must recognize that every action has an effect, Whether the effect is good or bad, positive or negative, depends on the type of action that was taken.
More specifically, it depends on the energy, or the intention, with which the action was taken.
So, if you follow a few simple guidelines for setting positive intentions in your life, it will not be difficult to create positive karma, and the reap the rewards of every action that you take.
The first step Chopra outlines, is to recognize that every moment of your life, you have an infinite number of choices available to you. This means you are a choice-maker. You are in control, and every moment is a moment of power.
The second step is to think about the consequences of your choices. Since you are in control of your choices, you can always make a more evolved decision. The way to determine this is to use your emotional guidance system. If you ask your body about what you should do, it will respond by feeling slightly better or slightly worse. If it feels slightly better, then it is a positive choice.
The third step is to raise your awareness beyond yourself, and ask whether your actions are in alignment with the spirit of love and harmony in the universe. If it is, then it is a good karmic choice.

Deepak Chopra
Karma, memory, and desire are just the software of the soul. It’s conditioning that the soul undergoes in order to create experience. And it’s a cycle. In most people the cycle is a conditioned response. They do the same things over and over again.
