The fifth chakra is our throat chakra, known as the Vishuddha in Sanskrit. This chakra is located in the region of the throat and extends down our neck and shoulder and upwards to our mouth and ears.
This chakra holds our voice in many senses. The way we express our individuality, use our voice, identify ourselves, and contribute to the world gathers itself within this energy center.
Also, the way we perceive and take in information such as listening is processed within this chakra as well. The color aquamarine or light blue and the element ether represent the throat chakra.
How To Tell If Your Throat Chakra Is Blocked
The throat chakra, like any chakra, can become blocked. Our chakras are energy centers in the body that work as a sort of gathering point within the layers of our mental, physical, and emotional layers.
Chakra in Sanskrit translates to “wheel” or “circle” this can begin to explain that our chakras spin and need continuous movement to thrive. Similar to our bodies which need replenishing of nutrients as well as expelling the excess in order to thrive, our chakras need movement as well.
When the throat chakra is blocked it can show up as an overall tight sensation in the throat, struggling to say no or to speak up, lack of self-confidence, or social anxiety.
The state of your throat chakra will also show up in the words you use and the way you use language. For example, belittling, aggressive language, lying, or a shy voice are all symptoms of a throat chakra imbalance.
Physically it can show up as stuttering, a sore throat, teeth problems, bad breath, hearing problems, asthma, ulcers, TMJ, or neck and shoulder pain.
What Are Affirmations?
Affirmations are used in psychology and new age thought to affirm an idea or concept to your subconscious and conscious mind. When we have a thought we will also attach an associated image, feeling, and response to this thought.
It has been proven that our brain actually cannot tell the difference between visualizations real-life events. By using affirmations we are telling and affirming to the brain a reality we are wanting to integrate with.
The repetition of these thoughts work to ingrain themselves in the subconscious. The power of affirmations is actually amplified when we attach our emotions to them.
This begins to affect the way we interact with life and the way we view ourselves. When we have an underlying current that we can trust ourselves or that we are worthy of love we will begin to naturally act in a way that harmonizes with this reality rather than in a way that actually blocks this from entering our lives.
Affirmations really work to disarm self-sabotaging tendencies and actually make it easier to create change.
How To Use Affirmations
To begin using affirmations, take some time to first become aware of where you would like to encourage or grow yourself. Then, choose an affirmation or customize one that matches the nourishment you want to bring into your life.
Then the most important step is to own it. When you say these affirmations cultivate the feelings you would be feeling as you are saying them as if they are your truth. Feel extravagantly rich when you say the words “I am abundant”.
Through the law of attraction, you will begin to shift your vibration to be a harmonious match to the reality of the affirmation.
Affirmations And The Chakras
The chakras vibrate at a higher frequency when they are in balance. You can affirm statements that match these frequencies in order to open, balance and program your chakras to be open and in alignment.
You can journal these affirmations, chant them, sing them, or think them in meditation. They work the strongest with the intentions and attention you put behind them.
Throat Chakra Affirmations
Speaking affirmations is incredibly healing, but even more so for the throat chakra because this involves you owning and using your voice. If this feels uncomfortable for you at all know that just like turning on an old sink, at first, the water may run rusty and brown before it runs crystal clear.
When clearing out a throat chakra blockage you need to release the old first. This may take time. Patience, kindness, and dedication are all nutrients you will need to give yourself in this process.
Tony Robbins says, “energy flows where attention goes” which speaks volumes to the fact that our attention and intentions are powerful. By using these affirmations below or customizing your own you can open and heal your throat chakra.
