Abraham Hicks: Why Contrast and Negative Emotions are Good

In this post I want to share a great excerpt from an Abraham Hicks seminar where Abraham explains why the experience of negative emotion and contrast is actually a good thing.

So often, we get wrapped up in our negative experiences and make them worse because we think they shouldn’t be there, and believe that if we’re experiencing negative emotions, it means we’ve done something wrong.

But, as Abraham explains, that’s just not the case.

Negative emotions are essential for creation, and in this video she explains why.

Do you struggle to find alignment? If you, check out this workshop on getting into the vortex.

The Art of Creating In The Moment

Contrast Inspires Desire Within You

We want to say something just to get this off on a stable footing, and that is:

Creating in the moment, there are two things that you predominantly do that cause you to create in the moment. One is when you have a negative moment, when you are putting something in the vortex.

Remember, all of your creating is happening in Step 1. Does that shock you? It’s because it causes you to focus. You never know more clearly what you do want than when you’re looking right at what you don’t want.

So, one of the two times is when you’re experiencing something you don’t want: that’s when you’re creating in the moment.

The other way you create in the moment is by being in the state of allowing where you can allow yourself to be receptive to impulses that move you in the direction of what you want. That’s what creating in the moment is.

And when you think about it, the first parts really easy because you can’t stop creating in those moments. There’s no possible way that you cannot continue to have Step 1 moments.

Sometimes, you think that what you’re hearing from us is that negative emotion is not a good thing so don’t ever have Step 1 moments, but that’s not what we’re saying. We’re saying let your Step 1 moments happen as they naturally will, and be happy for the Step 1 moments that have created something in the vortex.

So, that part of it you can’t control. It’s going to happen. Life comes to you. Sometimes it feels like it’s coming at you, but you’re doing those Step 1 moments all the time.

The second step is that source takes care of it. That’s not your work.

The creating in the moment that you’re getting at is just practicing creating an atmosphere so I can receive. That’s all it is.

The best possible way you could create in the moment, since you can’t do anything about the Step 1 stuff because that’ just going to happen.

The best thing that you can possibly do is just to find as many ways to feel as good as you can possibly feel. As much stuff that blisses you. As much stuff that you enjoy. That’s as good as it gets.
