How To Raise Your Vibration To Attract What You Want

Even if you’re brand new to The Law of Attraction, you’ve probably already heard about the importance of raising your vibration to attract what you want into your life.

But, knowing that you should increase your vibration, and actually being able to do it consistently, are two very different things.

In this post, I’ll walk you through exactly what you need in order to understand what your vibration really is and why it’s important.

Then, I’ll outline a few of my favorite ways to change your vibrational frequency instantly, along with a simple, 3-step process you can use to keep your energy high in the long run.

What Your Spiritual Vibration Really Is

Your vibration, the energy that you emit, all day every day, creates the world that you experience.

As you go about your normal routines, you are constantly fluctuating within a given range of frequencies.

When you’re in a good mood, your energy is high, and you’re living on top of the world. When you’re in a bad mood, your energy plummets, and you move farther and farther away from your goals.

The goal, then, is to raise your energy (your mood) so that you can enter a positive spiral in which the universe brings you more and more of what you want, and propels you towards your dream goals.

In this post I’ll explain how.

Why Raising Your Vibrational Energy is Important

Before we dive into how to raise your vibration to manifest your goals, I want to outline why your mood is so fundamentally important.

Put simply: your mood is the easiest way for you to think about what your vibration actually is. Talking about “vibration” and “energy” can seem intangible, but your mood is actually a good short-hand for you to approximate where you stand vibrationally.

(The longer answer has to do with your resonance and your thought-belief-emotional spectrum, but you can learn more about that here if you’re interested.)

In other words: feeling good is the only thing that really matters, because ultimately, it all boils down to one fact: joy creates prosperity.

10 Ways To Raise Your Vibration Instantly

So, now that we’ve simplified what your vibration actually is, we can look at how you can consciously and deliberately take the steps you need to raise it.

I usually break this down into 2 skills to master:

  1. You need a set of tools and strategies you can apply in the moment, in order to feel better quickly and easily.
  2. You need a clear process to help you manage and sustain your higher frequency over time.

First, let’s take a look at a few of my favorite strategies to increase my vibration instantly. I rely on these tools all of the time.

The key point here is to have a diverse set of skills that you can call on, anytime, anywhere, which you know will help you to lift your mood. They may seem simple, but the reality is: the easier, the better!

Change Your Physical State

Often, when we feel down, stuck, or frustrated, one of the best strategies you can use to instantly increase your energy is to change your physical state of being.

This is honestly one of the fastest and easiest techniques you could ever do, and it works wonders to help you snap out of whatever’s got you down, and start thinking from a higher level.

The point is to do something that creates a rapid, physical change to your body. This could be:

  • Standing up quickly,
  • Improving your posture: lift your head and let your shoulders fall back
  • Smiling
  • Doing a few jumping jacks or pushups.

It does not matter so much what the physical action is. What is far more important is that you’re using some sort of physical change to induce a mental one.

Repeat Short Affirmations

Another great strategy for raising your energy is to repeat a few short affirmations.

Affirmations can be a great tool because they help you to shift your perspective, and align your energy to the vision of who you want to become. This focus on the “better you” helps your mind to start thinking and acting from that state, right now.

You can try your hand at these daily spiritual affirmations, or useone of my all time favorite processes, which is something I call the 3 Magic Phrases.

You can click here to try them out.

Use a Breath Technique

There are literally dozens of breath techniques that can help you to change your state, shift your focus, and start to embody a higher level of consciousness.

I couldn’t possible cover all of them in this post, and which you choose is going to depend on what, exactly you are feeling in the moment, and what you want to accomplish.

That said, I recommend starting with one of these 8 pranayama exercises.

Read a Few Inspirational Quotes

Another technique I use to lift my mood is to take a few minutes to read some inspirational quotes.

Again, this strategy (and the next few in the list) are based on the idea that 9 times out of 10, raising your energy just comes down to distracting yourself for a few moments. When you do, you start to feel better very, very quickly.

Sing Along With a Favorite Song

This next one is self-explanatory. Singing along to a song or two — and maybe even getting up to dance for a minute — is a great way to change your vibration fast.

If you don’t have a favorite song, well…I’m afraid I can’t help you there. 🙂

Look to Nature

One of the most powerful mindfulness practices is simply to sit in nature and observe your surroundings.

The natural world is an incredible way to help us tune-in to a higher level of consciousness, so if possible, you could get outside and go for a walk or sit in a park.

But, you don’t have to overthink this process. Simply staring at a flower or looking at a tree out the window can be a powerful boost as well.

The key is simply to relax, breathe calmly for a moment, and pay attention to the details of the natural world in which we live.

Smile More

I think that one of the simplest but most often overlooked techniques for increasing your vibrational frequency is to smile more.

When we smile, we release a series of happy hormones into our brains, which kickstarts a positive emotional spiral.

If you step back and smile for a minute when you’re upset, the exercise will help to calm you down. If you practice it consistently, and make it a habit, the simple act of smiling will dramatically improve the way you feel every day, and – no joke – will start to work wonders in your life.

Journal for 5 Minutes

Like affirmations, journaling is a great way to reset your mind and point it towards the things you want to manifest in your life, rather than any problems or obstacles that may be staring you in the face.

Again, the 3 Magic Phrases process is perfect for this, or else you can read this post to learn more about starting a manifestation journal.

Meditate

Meditation doesn’t have to be difficult. While the best practice is to commit to a consistent daily meditation practice of 10-15 minutes each day, you can also apply the same idea in the moment when you feel down or upset.

At its core, meditation only takes a few moments. In the words of Eckhart Tolle: “One conscious breath in and out is a meditation.”

One conscious breath in and out is a meditation.

The key principle is that focusing on your breath will reset your energy back to a more neutral place. The longer you stay with your breath, the more positive momentum you build.

Create Your Own Happy List

Lastly, I strongly recommend you create what I often call a “happy list.”

This is your own set of tools and exercises that you can rely on to always raise your energy. Choose a few simple actions that only take a few minutes, as well as some that take a bit longer.

This can be anything from watching a funny cat video to calling a friend or going for walk. Write down at least 10 actions that work for you so that you can rely on them, in the moments that feel tough.

How To Change Your Frequency Over The Long Term: A Simple Process

While the techniques above are perfect for helping you to raise your vibration fast and easily, it’s also essential that you create a long-term strategy that helps you to consistently build up your vibration.

This simple 3-step process is, I think, one of the best guides you can follow.

Step 1: Observe Your Current Emotional State

The first step is to observe your current emotional state. Believe it or not, most of us spend most of our days completely unaware how we actually feel in that moment.

Sure, you recognize when you get angry or upset, or when something good happens that lifts your spirits, but those events actually take up a very small percentage of your day.

Can you honestly say you’re always aware exactly how you feel when you’re driving to work, cooking dinner, or getting changed for bed?

Simply getting into the habit of noticing how you feel is tremendously important, because only when you are fully aware of your current energy can you take the next step.

Step 2: Choose a Better-Feeling Thought

The second step is to learn to choose a better-feeling thought.

Many people try to change their energy by repeating positive affirmations, or writing in a grattitude journal (for a full list of mindfulness exercises you can try), but the crux of it boils down to what you’re thinking, in any given moment.

If you train yourself to pay attention to how your thoughts feel, you can then learn to pick a thought that feels slightly better than the previous one.

Then, you just rinse and repeat, continuing to pick slightly better thoughts.

Sounds simple, right? Once you get into that habit, you’re ready for Step 3…

Step 3: Build Momentum

The final step is to build momentum.

In the realm of spiritual energy, you can think of momentum just as you would if you were driving a car. Building momentum means accelerating the energy.

You build your momentum by reinforcing positive energy. As you do, it will strengthen your ability to release any resistance or limiting beliefs you might hold, and start to center yourself into a new vibrational set-point, a new range that allows you to attract what you want into your life.

This is the beginning of gaining conscious control over your experience.

As you start to access consistently higher states of being, you will begin to feel better and better, more consistently.

Next Steps: Taking Action

The concepts I’ve outlined in this post work.

I’ve seen them work, over and over again, both in my own life and in those of my students and clients.

But, in order for them to take effect, at some point you have to stop reading about them, and start applying them, putting them into action with simple, concrete steps.

Depending on your goals, I recommend one of 3 routes.
